History
Utahrails.net - this is probably the most-cited website in the history of railroading. Utahrails.net hosts hundreds of primary source documents, histories about almost all of Utah's railroads, mining, agriculture, steam locomotive rosters, information about Union Pacific passenger trains, D&RGW diesels, and so much more.

D&RGW 223 - a website of information about the narrow gauge C-16 class steam locomotive being restored by the Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society at the Utah State Railroad Museum.

Golden Spike Chapter, Railway & Locomotive Historical Society - based out of Ogden, this chapter of the R&LHS has undertaken several ambitious restoration projects and works in tandem with the Utah State Railroad Museum. Their current project is the restoration of D&RGW 223.

Railfanning
UCrail.com - Spencer Peterson's Utah railfanning guide. This site has radio frequencies, train symbols, and maps. The best source for information about modern Utah railroading.

Highball 661 West - Tom Hillebrant's railfan adventures in the Northwest, including much of Idaho. His photography is superb.

Museums
Utah State Railroad Museum - Ogden's Union Station is home to four museums, but most famously the Utah State Railroad Museum, which houses a large collection of full-size railroad equipment including  UP 833 (FEF-3 steam locomotive), UP 26 (Gas Turbine Electric), and D&RGW 5371, the last unpainted Rio Grande locomotive to run on home rails.

Western Mining & Railroad Museum - Located in Helper, right at the heart of the Denver & Rio Grande Western's Utah route, this museum is home to a Utah Railway caboose and D&RGW jordan spreader. A brand-new exhibit about the D&RGW was completed in August 2016.

Golden Spike National Historic Site - the National Park Service's website for the site where the Transcontinental Railroad was joined together on May 10, 1869.

Dynamic Rail Preservation - this organization owns two ex-Amtrak locomotives which are currently displayed at the Utah State Railroad Museum. They have a good track record of locomotive preservation.

Video
Golden Spike Chapter Youtube Channel - this is the official channel for the D&RGW 223 restoration project.
